Harry Potter
The main character in all JK Rowling's books, Harry is famous throughout the wizarding world for being the only wizard to escape the curses of the evil Lord Voldemort. Attacked when he was just a baby, Harry has a unique lightening-shaped scar on his forehead, which means he is recognised almost wherever he goes. Harry was left an orphan after the attack from the infamous Dark Lord, and was sent to live with his Muggle-relatives, the Dursleys.

Fearing all within the magical world, the Durleys never told Harry anything about his magical connections. Harry grew up knowing nothing of the wizarding world, although every witch and wizard that passed him on the street recognized him as the famous wizard that saved them from evil Lord Voldemort.

But the Dursley's vow never to let Harry know of his magical parentage was ruined when on his 11th birthday, Harry recieved a letter from Albus Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, confirming his place in the school for the next year.

With the gentle groundsman Hagrid as his guide, Harry learns everything about his past - what really happened to his parents, why he can make things happen to his advantage and just
where  that peculiar scar on his forehead came from.  Harry goes to his first year at Hogwarts full of curiousity for the magical world.
