| A person that has no knowledge of the wizarding world, and no magical skills whatsoever. A wizard can, however, be born to Muggle parents (see Muggle born). No Muggle knows about the wizarding world, unless, they are a direct relative of a witch or wizard, and then they are sworn to secrecy. |
| Muggle-born: |
| A wizard or witch can, however, be born to Muggle parents. These magical people are called Muggle Borns. Some other witches and wizards, who come from long lines of purely magical people (see Pure-bloods, Mud-bloods and Squibs) discriminate against Muggle-borns, saying they should not be able to practise magic. |
