Goofy, clumsy and always in the wrong place at the wrong time, lovable Neville Longbottom first meets Harry, Ron and Hermione on their first trip on the Hogwart's express. He becomes friends with Hermione first, then later with Harry and Ron when he discover he shares a room with them, and two other Gryffindor boys.
Neville is generally teased for being a misfit, and a near-squib when it comes to magic- so no-one was more suprised than he when he was placed in Gryffindor - the house known for it's brave and courageous students -by the Hogwart's sorting hat. But Neville shows what he's really made of time and time again, when he's called upon in risky situations to help (or hinder) Harry, Ron and Hermione. It was Neville's ten points that secured the House Cup for Neville in the first year, and made him a House hero.
