** ARIZONA **
Steve and I lived in Tempe, Arizona from mid-August 1997 until mid-March 1998 and revisited the State on holiday over Hogmanay 1999.
It's one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, with a huge variety of scenery.
Castle Dome Mountain.
The Apache Trail is a state highway, but I wouldn't like to drive it in my own car.
It passes through Tonto National Forest (right), although we didn't recognise it as a forest!
The City of Phoenix seen from South Mountain (left) and North Mountain (right).
View of Tempe from Papago Park, looking through the Hole in the Rock - used by the ancient Hohokam people as a calendar device.
We lived in an apartment complex called Signature Place.
I did voluntary work in Tempe Public Library.
The old London Bridge - now in Lake Havasu City.
Sedona is beautiful. The left hand picture was taken from a helicopter.
I want to see more of Monument Valley.
The Painted Desert (left) and the Petrified Forest (right) were both covered in snow at the end of December, but still stunning.
The Grand Canyon is just indescribable.
Christmas lights in Chandler.
