** CANADA **
Steve and I had a wonderful holiday in Canada, based at Revelstoke in British Columbia, early in 1998.
Sunset on the west coast the day we arrived.
We stayed at the Boulder Mountain Inn B&B at Revelstoke and would highly recommend it.
We also recommend hiring a 4-wheel-drive vehicle even if you're not there in the winter as you get such a good view from inside.
The entrance to Revelstoke village is guarded by these two bears.
We had great fun snowshoeing on Mount Revelstoke.
Lake Revelstoke.
A general view of Glacier National Park and a close up of icicles beside the road.
Two very different bridges: the old bridge (left) used to be the main road (oo er!) and the natural bridge (right) was formed by the water flowing under it.
Cathedral Mountain.
The Spiral Tunnels were constructed to stop trains falling off the mountain!
The front of the train is about to enter the tunnel, and the back is visible below it.
Remember that a large number of the wagons are off the right hand side of the photo.
The view in the other direction from the Spiral Tunnels.
Nakusp Hot Springs. 100oF in one pool, 103oF in the other, and below freezing outside!
