Castle Thornwood

presents

Days of Yore

Invite the Middle Ages to your next birthday party, business luncheon, anniversary, or club event! Or let us host your (small) group at our scenic Medieval encampment. Either way, we can add a little historical flavor to your special occasion! Huzzah!

We have two general packages:

A Little Bit of Yore: We bring a touch of the Middle Ages to your event at your location (a Knight or a Faire Maid to sing "Happy Birthday"), or we can plan your event for/with you to recreate a Medieval feast, or an Elizabethan masked ball, for instance. Or anything in between! How about a fellow to quote a Shakespearian sonnet to a birthday girl? Or Italian Renaissance dancing for your wedding? Or a Medieval fashion show? How about an armored combat tournament to choose a champion for a prom queen, or for a special secretary? King for a day? Our prices start at $35.00.

A Day of Yore: From June 15 to September 15 this summer we will be hosting on our site just south of Wasilla a small Medieval encampment. For 4 to 8 people at a time, this place will be an escape into the Middle Ages, albeit a somewhat cleaner, gentler version. We will have a pavilion for inclement weather and cooking, beautifully designed outhouse facilities, and mosquito protection. Activities can include weaving, dancing, cooking, archery, armor making, combat demonstrations, musical instruments, calligraphy, period games, or others as they're suggested. We offer two schedule possibilities: 10am to 4pm, or 3pm to 9pm; a meal is included and there will be garb available to wear. Small groups, clubs and special events are welcome. Our price per person is $47.95.
