The tiny book icons above will show you a piece of Trivia about or a Quotation from a Victorian Popular Novelist. |
I have a long held passion for popular Victorian novels and my aim is to bring to light some of the more forgotten writers of the period and allow their writing to speak for itself! My first experience of this "lost" literature came with the discovery of two books shut away in our dusty loft when I was a teenager, Only the Governess by Rosa N Carey and We Two by Edna Lyall, two of the best introductions into the world of Victorian fiction.
Over time I will add more authors with some of their short stories, as well as anonymous stories that I find in periodicals of the period.

| ANONYMOUS LITERATURE A vast amount of Victorian periodical fiction was published anonymously. I am intending to bring to light on these pages some of that anonymous fiction. If anybody reading this knows who wrote any of these stories I would be grateful to hear from you. I would like to read: AUTHORS UNKNOWN TO HISTORY There are a multitude of nineteenth century authors about whom little or nothing is known. This page is dedicated to them. If you can provide me with any further information on any of these authors please e-mail me. Mary E Hullah
