CHARACTER PROFILES

Ernie Potts

Age: Most likely, Ernie is in his forties.

Address: The Sunset Arms Boarding House

Pets: Ernie doesn't have any pets that we know of. His apartment's pretty empty except for some bricks he stole from the sites he's knocked down.

Occupation: Ernie works for a demolition company, knocking down condemned properties. QUESTION - In Hey Arnold! The Movie, isn't it odd that Ernie had nothing to do with the destruction of the neighborhood? I mean, that'd probably be a big cash pay-off, and he could take the money to buy a new place. Also, Ernie is seen lugging small tiny boxes out of his apartment. If he has literally walls of old bricks from demolished buildings, wouldn't it take him forever with small boxes like that? I'm sure somebody would've mentioned it sooner or later.

Fun Facts: Ernie has a metal plate in his head. Aside from that, he has a habit of listening to Dino Spumoni tapes while he demolishes buildings. In particular, Dino Spumoni's song "Smashed" was what inspired him to go and take in a career of wrecking buildings. "You left my heart... in pieces on the floor... so why shouldn't I... break some things of yours?"

Friends: Ernie doesn't have many friends outside of the boarding house, but with that said... I think he considers the other boarders to be his friends. Except for Oskar. Nobody really likes Oskar.

Marriage: Ernie isn't married, but he was going out with this model he had a crush on named Lola ("If I were Spanish, I'd say hola..."). At the end of the episode, it seemed as if they were still going out but she never returned in any other episodes. THey should bring Lola back, man. Lo-Lo-Lo-L-Lola...

Overall: Ernie has knocked down most likely now over five hundred buildings. He's very good in his opinion at what he does and he couldn't be happier doing his job. Ernie is a very short guy, almost like a ghetto Danny DeVito. Ernie also usually travels everywhere with a wooden mallet he calls "The Equalizer".
