Friends: Has mainly one best friend – Phoebe. She is often seen talking with the rest of the girls at school but most of the time is usually with Phoebe. She is now on good terms with Big Patty and was on good terms with Lila before Arnold took an interest in her. My guess is because it’s her fault Arnold fell for Lila. You’d have to see the episode "Arnold and Lila".

Crushes: She is mainly fixated on Arnold. Nobody really has a crush on her though. Arnold’s cousin Arnie has a thing for her but she has nothing towards him. Stinky once fell in love with her but then fell in love with another. Brainy might have a thing for her since he once offered her a cheap penny ring by a church once, but only time will tell for sure. Only four people know of her secret obsession with Arnold: Phoebe (Has figured it out), Lila (Forced it out of Helga in order for Helga to play as Juliet in the school play), Brainy (Is always creeping over her shoulder when she confesses in secrecy), and Big Patty (Has an idea that they got a thing goin’ on. Me and Misses… Misses Jones…). Arnold has never fully caught on to her secret obsession. Many times he’s had an idea that she might have a thing, but he soon forgets about it (I.E.: Was suspicious when it took, like, three minutes for her to finish kissing him in the school production of Romeo and Juliet. Had become friends with her at the end of "Biosquare" until they started arguing again. Helga almost told him when she thought she had "monkeynucleosis". Etc.).

Overall: Helga is misunderstood because she doesn’t act how she feels disabling anyone to fully understand her. It could be her upbringing, living in a home where no one really notices her, or maybe just the way she is by nature. Deep down is the inner Helga, the sensitive Helga who actually is nice and kind. Helga may never melt her icy shell of secrecy, but hey, what can you do?
