Clan History

Weirdlings.

The moniker aptly describes the hybrid bloodline that has taken the name Kiasyd. The roots of the Kiasyd bloodline have been lost to time, as have most kindred secrets. In this case it may be for the best, as it's whispered that the Kiasyd ar e not fully kindred. What is known as fact may be lies spread by the Kiasyd to protect other kindred and themselves from a truth too strange to accept. The Malkavians on the other hand say that the best hiding place is in the truth itself. Be it truth or fiction, the known history of the Kiasyd is unusual by kindred standards by the lack of direct aggression, or convert manipulation by the bloodline.

The actual date that the Kiasyd line came into being is debated. Some point to the obvious "scratch my back" relation with the Lasombra, as proof that the bloodline is young enough to have been created shortly after the Sabbat rose to power. Others, and notably older kindred, point the fact that the Kiasyd are rarely active members in the Sabbat, and that the generation of the Kiasyd founder should be proof enough that the Weirdlings' blood is much older then the Sabbat.

The Kiasyd do not speak on the subject.

Fortunately for those who wish information on the bloodline, a small amount of history has been collected. The founder of the line was of the Fifth generation. The name "Marconius" has entered many conversations pertaining to the name of the founder, but like all ancient vampires, this is most likely as pseudonym, as true names hold great power. Marconius and his companions were obsessed with something. Some say his own blood, while others whisper that it was the shadows that the Lasombra and the Kiasyd seem to manipulate at their leisure.

The eldest of kindred, who are lucky enough to still be awake, mutter of the year 439 AD.....Marconius and his companions worked tirelessly on thier experiments, and unfourtunatly(?), yeilded little results. Following on rumors of fae with powers mimicing the Lasombra clan discipline, blood from the local fae of the shadow court was collected. Potions from a teutonic magi were also accepted. After still yeilding little to no results,Marconius was volenteered as the guina pig for an experiment that involved the Shadow Court blood, and the Teutonic potion. Marconius's change was almost immidiate. The fae blood ravaged his system, and aided by the magi's potion, bonded with it, creating a being that not only carried the blood of Caine, but that of the fair folk as well. Marconius was locked away, and hidden from the ruling Lasombra of the time, but the group's experiment was eventualy found out...and all invovled were brought to trial. The Lasombra destroyed all of those involved except for the now freakish Marconius, who, by the local fae's own request, was given to the fair folk to be delt with.

Marconius was not heard from for nearly a thousand years. Some say he was taken to Arcadia, the home of the fae that is now lost to the world of mortals, and that there he perfected the strange hybrid discipline of Mytherceria. Others whisper that time did not pass in Arcadia as it did on earth. Some say that the period of a thousand years on earth may have been more then 10,000 to those in Arcadia, and that Marconius, in relative years, is as old, if not older, as any anti-diluvian that exists in modern days, using the potent blood of the fae to avoid falling into the toporic sleep of the ancients.

His resurfacing was just as sudden as his disappearance. In 1215, the hieght of the Dark Ages, Marconius and a group of childer bearing the same changes stormed and took the city of Strausberg from the control of the Ventrue. The Ventrue never managed to regain the city , and eventually abandoned it to Marconius and the Kiasyd. The elder Lasombra recognised Marconius merely by his desciption, but did not interfere as MArconius and his new brood were harassing thier poltical rivals, the Ventrue, and did not seem to harbor any grudge towards thier clan founders.

From that one city the Kiasyd spread very slowly. But in places that hold great repositories of knowalge, a weirdling is more then likely to be found, reaserching and studying in the bloodline's notoriously withdrawn manner.
