Shadow Masks (kit):

Admission Standards: Recruits to the Shadow Masks must have Strength and Dexterity scores of at least 15.
Role: The Shadow Masks must be adept at ferreting out enemies of the Hegemon and tracking them down, both above and below ground. He or she must be a skilled fighter, fighter/thief or assassin. The ideal Shadow Mask prefers to reach his or her objectives by quickness and stealth wherever possible. Shadow Masks wear light, quiet armor and have a keen eye with a missile weapon but don't shirk from a toe-to-toe sword fight when circumstances require. The reorganized Shadow Masks are to be divided into three teams: The Intelligence Team (The Bloodhounds), the Assassination Team (The Stalkers) and the Commando Team.(The Hegemon's Flail) The Shadow Masks overlap in their areas of responsibilities with the Hammer of Gharash, with the HoG being assigned higher priority missions than the Shadow Masks, as the Shadow Masks are still in a rebuilding stage. That the Hegemon plans to publicly announce the formation of the Champions of the HoG while not announcing the reformation of the Shadow Masks, suggests a two handed strategy with the HoG as the long sword, and the Shadow Masks as the dueling dagger. The cynical might regard the HoG as the lightning rod for the enemies of the Hegemon, while the Shadow Masks as the Hegemon's invisible hand, but the Hegemon would never describe the differing roles of these two divisions of the Champions in such a fashion.

Bonus Nonweapon Proficiencies: Because of a interest in hunting down enemies of the Hegemon, the Shadow Mask gains a bonus proficiency in either Tracking or Information Gathering (not both).
Recommended Nonweapon Proficiencies: Useful proficiencies for this character include Fire Building, Fishing, Hunting, Survival, and Disguise.
Equipment: In addition to his or her weapons, the Shadow Mask prefers leather armor and disdains the use of a shield. Most Stalkers possess a climbing rope.
Special Benefits: Shadow Masks are able to hide in shadow and move silently as a ranger of equal level.
Special Hindrances: The Shadow Mask cannot use a shield or wear any type of metal armor (not even elven chain). If a Shadow Mask is found out to be such or formerly been such, a -6 reaction penalty is applied to all NPC's.

Background:
Anaka has been on her own much of the time since she was 5 years old. Her parents were killed when their caravan was attacked during the Pelai conquest of the Delta. She lived on her own for two years, before she was found hiding a ruined farmhouse when she was 7. She had been raiding nearby farmsteads and was known in the area as the "eirtruese", "the phantom". She was returned to her tribe and was cared for. When Anaka turned 14 she decided it was time for her to be on her own, and set out for the glitter of the big cities of the Delta. Unfortunately Anaka found out that the world is harsher than what she remembered during her short two years as an orphan, the Kiresh were not like the desert folk, and living on the streets of Kyroz, not like living out in the country. Anaka quickly learned that she needed to be able to protect herself and she came to the attention of the Shadow Masks, the secret police of the Illithid hegemon Marghash. As an agent of the Shadow Masks, she learned to hone her skills as a warrior and acquired a taste for fine things. When Marghash fell and was replaced by Gharash, she was one of the Shadow Masks that was recruited by the New Hegemon rather than hunted down, because of her rather peripheral role in the old organization. She always has a vial of perfume handy and takes great pride in keeping up her appearance. Though she may seem the helpless beautiful damsel, that is quite far from the truth, her dual wielded scimitar and jambiya are indeed formidable.

Character Description:
When her face is shown shes revealed to be a fierce looking beauty. her broad cheek bones dampen her sharp features somewhat, while her pointed jaw, and chin, make her face look sharp as the biting sands. her nose has no belonging to either the angles, nor the sweeping features on her face, being somewhere in between. though her lips are big, and full, you'd hardly notice them but for her eyes. an odd mix of dark brown, and flecks of green, gives a hint of color to an other otherwise even brown shades of her body. not walking one more step then she needs too, she carefully watches everything that goes on around her, and reacts accordingly. having strongly muscled, and marked, long hands, she routinely is counting things that she sees, moving her fingers up and down, to the sums shes calculating.

Character Profile Personality:
Anaka is a shrewd,calculating individual with a cool eye for danger, she goes up to the front of the pack if there is sufficient need, but otherwise prefers to stay in the middle as reserve. She is not boastful of her abilities and doesn't brag or boast. She likes to appear calm and in control, though her finger counting shows shes not as calm as she may like. Funloving and epcicurean, she is loves to have a good time though, when the time is right, and relax and joke around with the men when the coast is clear. She has a taste for creature comforts, but is able to rough it with the best of them.
