What's Up With Us? | |||||||||||
We are all cool heads that love to just hang out and work on our cars. On our typical weekend, we go out drinking and looking for a good time. Sometimes, Fun finds us.
Here's a letter from one of our older heads. He's a Marine and so he doesn't hear much from us but he found the page and he writes to us:
Wholy Fucking blue balls!!! Almost ten years in the making!! The Alley Cat Kings have fucking grown. I was sitting here in the middle of the desert...well, in a building in the middle of the desert, cruisin' through the pages and saw "Alley Cat Kings". "Alley Cat Kings,"--the name I helped come up with and the jacket I helped design (it isn't much of an elaborate design, but it makes a bold fucking statement, righta--"Greasers!!!")I helped create. It started off one day back in '91/'92 in the Quad at good ol' Benjamina Franklin High School. There we were, the only three Greasers in school (and at the time the few, if not the only Greasers in Highland Park). Yeah, people made comments about us and some may have laughed, but we stuck to our guns and came to school everyday with our cuffed up jeans, white t-shirt or wife beater and of course the greasiest fucking hair imaginable. I bet you those guys who commented on our style back then try to be greasy just so they can get chicks. One day we decided to show everyone who we were--what we were about. We had to come up with a name. Now, I don't want to take all the credit for it, but I had a lot to do with the name, but we collectivly agreed that that's the name that was going to carry us. Hector, whom you've proudly mentioned on your site, had a buddy hook us up with the airbrushed design. It took us while, though, to find the right jackets. Although, our jackets didn't match (I have, to this day, my Alley Cat Kings jacket in my closet at home) we proudly wore those jackets everywhere we went. We used to see Big Sandy way back in the day sportin' our jackets when they were still called the Fly-Rite Trio. Russel Scott, Whistle Bait (now Josie Kruezer)... Those were the goddamn days!! We were the only greasers 'round H.P. Now, almost ten years later you Katz are keeping the name alive. One of our first recruits was J.King and Alex. Never did I think it would grow as much as it has. Things have happened in the past nine years since the beginning of the group and we (well, I speak for myself, 'cause I'm never really home due to all my deployments and don't know if the original crew wear their jackets) hardly, if ever wear my jacket. But we all know deep down inside that we were the original founders of the ALLEY CAT KINGS and it is up to y'all Greasers to keep it going. My jacket still hangs proudly in my closet to this day. Yep, it started off in Franklin almost ten years ago. STAY GREAZZZZY!!!! "Greaser Johnny" |
