Boppard 2002
Friday 6th of September 2002 around 16:45 Isle picked me up to drive us to Düsseldorf. But first we had to pick up Ralph at Schiphol. Amazing car drive to Düsseldorf almost nothing went wrong untill the moment my phone was ringing and I still have no idea how it was calling me (hope it was not important).
We arrived at 21:00 clock in Düsseldorf and we booked our rooms at the Ibis hotel. Small problem there are only two so ofcourse I picked the wrong one. After checking in we had some beers and took a cab to Altstad. Since the rest was still having diner and they did not have diner in Knoten we get lost and so John was so nice to pick us up. After the rest finished their diner we moved our asses to Knoten for some real fun. We drinked as much Schlösser Alt as possible, exchanged some good stories and drinked more Schlösser Alt. Around 3 a.m. we decided it might be a good idea to go to bed and prepare us for the real party: Boppard 2002.

AAAHH!! The famous Alt!!
The people who drunk it!!

Saturday morning I was so happy that everyone was trying to call me so I was awake on time. I felt like hell, looked like hell and was still drunk from the night before.

Do you mean like this, Niki ?

After a small breakfast (coca cola and orange juice) we entered the bus that was bringing us to Boppard. Around 9:40 I was drinking my first Schlösser Alt of the day. Arrived at Boppard we noticed that all NFL Europe teams were represented, some Fire and Galaxy fans, 8 Monarchs, 7 Admirals, 3 Dragons, 1 Claymores and Thunder fan. After drinking more Schlösser, some food and a couple of photo sessions we took the boat tour. After we returned back from the boat tour Montse and I decided that we would call everyone that was listed in my phone book (my phone company is now very happy). After some small shopping at the local NFL merchandise shop we took around midnight the bus back to Düsseldorf. As usually everyone felt in sleep except for the trained Triple ’A’ people. After we arrived back in Düsseldorf we decided to go back to the hotel and have some sleep instead of the original plan of going to Knoten. Have to make my apologize to Bron since I promised to her that I would drink all the Schlösser Alt at Knoten. Arrived in the Hotel we decided to take another beer before going to sleep.

On Sunday I took back the train to Amsterdam since Ralph and Ilse were staying in Düsseldorf. Arrived home around 16:00 changed clothes and took a shower and moved my ass in the direction of the Globe to watch some NFL games. When I arrived in the Globe I was almost sober so a really needed a beer. My original plan was going home after the first game, but as usually I took the last train home. Went to my bed around 2 am.

Some game facts:

Play of the weekend: Montse tried to say on the phone: I am sober but said: I am sorbed (New NFLE word for sober).
Phone bill: Will be high, sent over 400 textmessages and called for more than 1 ½ hour.
Biggest disappointment: No one was able to replace Michel except for the person I forget to ask.
Number of beers: Must be much but stopped counting after one.
Work on Monday: Felt good in the morning but after three hours of work I felt like I was braindead.
