Pumpkin Ridge Scapoose, Oregon 11/98 This trip started at 7 a.m. in the morning. All sorts of trucks went along including Woody's 4x. We showed up to find one way in and out. This was a great trail, all the holes were deep and hard to get through but if you couldn't do them there was always another way around them. Most of the holes had 2 or 3 ways through them. At the end was a tremendous hillclimb that only a few attempted. After exploring most of the trails and mud pits we had to struggle and help lots of people to get out. After 4 to 5 hours of waiting we finally reached the end. There were approx. 50 trucks on this trip and only half of them drove home under their own power. Please click on the pics to see them fullsized. |
This was the same hole towards the beginning of the trail. The first 2 pics are a 75 swb chev w/38's on and my Blazer with 38.5's on it. the last 2 are of Possum and his truck with 44's on. More on his truck in readers rides. |
A common scene of the day, bumper to bumper while someone gets winched out. |
Possum hits another hole. Its impressive to watch a big truck submerse themself into the mud holes. |
Deanna took a small trail while Jeff watches Possum and Oops! |
Joe attempted to go around this hole and got sucked in. It looked worse then it was, a short tug from us and he was out. |
This shows what an awesome trail this really was. If you look closely there is a truck coming out of a deep hole way in the distance. |
This is Robs truck attempting a pretty ugly hole. Eventually he gets a tug from a truck of equal size. Believe it or not that truck down in the hole has 44's under it. |
Same hole as the last pic but up close. Yes that truck is in there up to his bumper with his 44's totally submerged |
Same ugly hole as Robs truck was attempting. He did eventually make but only after having to work on the starter where it was sitting. |
