| A young man from Akron, Ohio, was rushed into the trauma room with chest wounds. It turned out that for two solid days, he had been trying and failing to commit suicide. First he washed a bottle valium down with vodka, but just ended up with a really bad hangover. Then he jumped into a bath and slit his wrists, but the blood clotted. Next, he tried to hang himselffrom the light fixture; as he dropped the ceiling collapsed and he crashed through into the basment. Now agitatedas well as depressed, he resolved to shoot himself, but remembered that although he had a supply of bullets, his gun was not in his house. Finally in desperation, he placed a bullet against his chest and started smashing it with a pair of plyers. The bullet exploded but came nowere near to killing him. At this point, the man gave up and went to the hospital. |
