The Fish Children
It was a sorry day for San Mateo in  the Philippines when the town was chosen as the dumping ground for rubbish from the 14 boroughs that make up the islands' capital Manila.  Since 1989, upto 6,000 tons of garbage have been dumped daily into San Mateo's 73-hectare landfill site.  The resulting cocktail of toxins and decay products have combined the town's water supply, resulting in hideous skin complaints in local children.
