Career History:
Studied six disciplines of wrestling, and has won 32 amateur Gold Medals. Helms was hugely successful as an independent wrestler on both singles and tag team levels. He debuted as a member of 3 Count on December 23, 1999. He became sidelined shortly in 2000 with a broken nose. He has become more focues and intense since Evan Karagias left 3 Count. Still with Shannon Moore, he is currently contending for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. On March 18, 2001 Shane Helms defeated Chavo Guerrero Jr. to finally become the WCW Cruiserweight Champion. On the final Monday Night Nitro Helms successfully defended the Cruiserweight Title against Chavo Guerrero Jr. and going into the hiatus of WCW he reamined the champion. Helms went through a few months of indy bookings before the relaunch of WCW. Finally on July 3, 2001 at a SmackDown! taping, Helms made his WWF TV Debut as Gregory Helms and lost his Cruiserweight Championship to Billy Kidman. Helms soon became somewhat obsessed with being a superhero after giving his Green Lantern T-Shirt to Steve Austin, his new hero. Helms soon began dressing up in superhero attire and changed his name to "The Hurricane." On August 27, 2001 Hurricane won the WWF European Title from Matt Hardy with the help of Ivory. After almost two months of holding the WWF European Title, Hurricane was finally defeated by Bradshaw of the APA on October 22, 2001 during a RAW broadcast. At the Survivor Series on November 18, 2001 Hurricane did not win the Immunity Battle Royal which ultimately resulted in him losing a job. On a December 13, 2001 broadcast of SmackDown!, Hurricane came to the rescue of Torrie Wilson who was being harrassed by Crash Holly. Later on in a segment involving Lance Storm and Ric Flair, Flair revealed that he had in fact hired The Hurricane.
Wrestling Style:
Shane Helms appears to be a Cruiserweight but is also a very accomplished technical wrestler. Sugah can brawl and also come up with very devastating and innovative finishing moves. He is a master of throws, submission holds and numerous counters.
