WELCOME TO 50+ SINGLES

My name is Paulette aka Azure Dream and I'm the administrator/owner of 50+ Singles & Michigan Singles.  Some say I'm a glutton for punishment but as a former chat addict, I found eons as a more relaxed way to interact with singles in my age group.  I've decided that the easiest way to help our new members & those new to the internet, without clogging up the various homepages with announcements, was to create links to webpages and other member links.

NAVIGATING EONS

The easiest way to get the most current information regarding rules, acceptable practice and what's new with 50+ Singles is to check out my welcome message which is generally circulating on either the first or second page of messages.  It's been in bold red text since I started doing it but may change in the next revision but ask if you don't see it.

TOPICS - You can start your own topic by selecting POST A MESSAGE. Before responding to a a current post, you may want to read through what others have said because the question may have already been answered although you're welcome to say anything you'd like (within reason of course).  You may see a reference to a hijacked thread and this refers to when the responses get off the original topic and often go in an entirely different direction.  There's differing opinions on whether this is good protocol or not but in my humble opinion (IMHO) is perfectly acceptable and often immortalizes that person's post. A word or two about posting JOKES, large pictures or other lengthy posts - - PLEASE don't post them as the initial message.....it's considered extremely rude and is subject to removal by either the moderators or me.....here's how to handle it...... Use the SUBJECT box to give your post a title In the YOUR MESSAGE box write a brief "TEASER" line and click POST Then respond to your own post with the joke or whatever is large.  This will allow more topics to be showing on the main or subsequent pages.

UPLOADING A PHOTO

In order to upload a photo to your Profile page, the picture needs to be on your computer's hard drive.  The following instructions are for a PC: On your PROFILE page, there's a link called ADD/EDIT PHOTOS.....click that Click the BROWSE button and this opens a dialog box that shows the various files & folders on your computer.  Depending on where you've chosen to store you photos,  you'll need to find the proper folder....often the default is under MY DOCUMENTS on the left hand side of the page....click that and in the right box will now be a list of locations with a folder called MY PICTURES.  If the picture you want to use is in the folder, click it and the location on your hard drive will transfer to the File Name box.....click OPEN and the file name will tansfer to the upload box on eons....then put a caption in the box below and click UPLOAD NEW PHOTO.....and VOILA!!.....you're being seen by the multitudes!!

CENSORSHIP

As a rule and because we are adults, I really hate to delete things which either violate the eons Terms of Use (TOU) or our group rules (see the WELCOME message for current rules) but as the owner, I have the right to delete things which I believe could be offensive, inflamatory or otherwise cause dissension among the general membership.  I have chosen my moderators very carefully and support any decisions made by them so please don't ask me to overrule something that they've done..  Eons has made it very clear that as a group manager/owner, I have the right to maintain order and have upheld that right in the past so if you're unhappy with what's established, you may be happier in another group or may wish to start your own.
