This page is devoted to my momma, Mary.
My momma has had a hard life. At 14 months old, momma contracted polio. She spent her childhood in and out of hospitals, unable to even walk for months at a time.
At 20, she married, and by her mid-20's, she had 4 children.
Momma's polio slowed her down in life, but did not deter her too much.
At 45, momma was the victim of a hit-and-run accident, which resulted in a hip replacement.
Momma was bed ridden for 2 years, recouperating from her injuries.
At 50, momma was diagnosed with colon cancer. She had to have half her colon removed.
In the last 10 years, momma has been diagnosed with COPD, scoliosis, and sleep apnea. She is now on oxygen, and recently has had to have a Tracheostomy.
Sob story over.
Despite all the trauma, my mother is a very happy person. She is happy despite what has happened to her.
Due to the weather, my momma is unable to get out.
What I would like from this page is for people to write my momma. Send her letters, cards, stationary, stamps, plant seeds, magazines, books, anything that she can open and to add some spark to her day.
