She did very well to finish 7th in her qualifying group.....orangey goldy
dress.....halter neck....sparkles galore......no sleeves but long
gloves......down on the 3flip...which was her combo.....nice spiral.....down
on the 3lz from steps....Robin tells us she was too slow on both.....slow
flying camel.....double axel just hung on to ....nice position in her
layback spin.....steps with nice musical interpretation......more
steps...into combo spin with nice position on sit....also including a catch
foot camel which was nice....and she's done. Look at all the glitter in her
hair.....

Volchkova.
Wine dress sparkles,.....spanish sounding....nails the
3lz2toe.......3flip......layback ....well centred,,,,,spiral straighten that
leg!.....spreadeagle for a spell....double axel was nice....flying
camel...great speed and she ain't moving! steps.....combo spin......nice
changes of position.

Vanessa Gusmeroli
Assymetrically lines dress....sand and wine......shrieking soprano......huge
triple lutz double toe at the end....lovely back spiral......3flip huge but
low in the knee on the landing....layback veryy nice.....dancing on the
ice.....double axel......combo spin....very fast and nice changes of
position.....she goes from right foot to left which is more
difficults.....straight line step......flying camel.......with illusion spin
move to end. actually the sand colour in her dress is flesh coloured net
with sparkles on top.....
marks.....5.0-5.5.......5.3-5.6...5/4 split puts her behind Volchkova


Sarah Meier SUI
Nice pale blue sparkly dress.......Reflection from Mulan.....nice flowing
movement.....triple utz double toe!.....ina baeur.....into triple
flip......layback spin.....and you'd know she's Swiss!....spiral.....double
axel.....music speeds as she does a flying camel which is quite
slow.....straight line step is nice.....short though........combo
spin......very well centred......and she's done! That was really good.......
marks....she's only 16...twice Swiss champion she was 16th last time at
Euros....5.2-5.4...5.2-5.4...se's second overall, three have her first.

Maria Butyrskaya
Scene de L'amour (sp?)...nice pale green dress that really suits
her....leaning a little on the lutz but got the 2toe in.....youch! down on
the flip ....that must've hurt.....combo spin.....nice positions
there.....again, a scratchy landing on the double axel....flying camel which
also has a nice position....diagonally across the ice in
steps.....spirals....layback spin.....and she's done. And her expression
speaks volumes.....she knows, there's a rueful smile there....Robin says
there was no running edge on the jumps...ie lutz and axel.....she landed the
lutz right on the toepick.......Robin points that when she jumped her
shoulders were up around her ears...that she wasn't relaxed at all.....
marks...4.9-5.3....5.5-5.8...she's second on the short but thanks to the
postion from qualifying, she's first overall.

Irina Slutskaya.
Royal blue dress, with flamey patterns of flesh net on it.....triple lutz,
no running edge of it it, then double toe..she did well , there was a bit of
a wait...strong 2ax....3flip from steps.....into layback...wit hher skate
touching her head, that was great...nice and fast although it may have
travelled...diagonal steps across the ice...flying camel......which is
centred.......fabulous back spiral.....and the rest of the sequence is
pretty good too...combo spin....including front biellman change foot and
then she does the back biellman too....that was excellent. Maybe not as
artistic as Butyrskaya, but she had all the technique and her spins are
second to none.
marks....5.6-5.9...5.7-5.9...all firsts and she leads overall.


So Sluteskaya Butyrskaya Volchkova Meier and Gusmeroli are the 1-5.
