In lipstick the softening / smoothing characteristics are crucial to its ease of application and look and feel. Most lipsticks contain 60-70% oils which smoothes the lips. Using hempseed oil instead of castor oil improves the overall feel, reducing the drying effects of most bromo acid dye solvents.
