Hemp's nutritional and  medical properties have been appreciated by ancient and modern civilizations for over six millennia. The 'useful fiber' (Cannabis Sativa) was brought to Britain by the Romans approximately 2000  years ago.

2000 years later we are proud to re-introduce Organic Hemp Oil 'Natures' most balance oil', Hemp oil unlike other supplement oils has a unique balance of Linolenic Acid and Alpha-Linoleic Acid . These have important roles within the body for numerous functions.

We use only the finest organic seed (AGRECO certificate No BB90303 A.Z-1.V2 / UK Soil Association No.P5999) avoiding unwanted chemical contaminants and ensuring the finest  quality product.

Organic hemp oil is extracted using traditional 'cold pressing,' this ensures that the powerful compounds - Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's) remain 100% in tact. EFA's provide important functions generating energy and constructing membranes particularly in Brain and Nerve cells.

Most industrial extraction methods damage these important EFA's. Heavy processing of EFA's convert them from their unstable naturally occurring 'cis' form to the hydrogenated 'trans' form. Manufacturers favour this because it increases the shelf life or clarity of the oil. They are not required to declare any of these processes on the label, so they don't. Enzymes in our body which metabolize these EFA   do not recognise the 'trans form',effectively rendering them useless.

Our product is like no other, all organic hemp oil is fresh and cold pressed at less than 35` C to ensure maximum EFA effectiveness.

Essentail Fatty Acids (EFAs) are as vital to human health, as vitamins and minerals. Nutritionists commonly recommended EFAs for lowering blood pressure, cholesterol and triglyeride levels. EFAs also play an important role in reducing hart disease and stroke risk. The human body cannot manufacture these and relies on a dietary intake. EFAs are used continually, maintaining a constant supply is vital in preventative health treatments.

Many lifestyes and diets reduce the bodies ability to properly utilize linoleic acid for the synthesis. Symtoms of these deficiencies includes dry, red, scaly or cracked skin that resemble eczema, first on the face and then on the nose, lips, forehead. Dry rough areas also appear on the arms, thighs and buttocks.

EFAs' are the major component of all cell membranes, an inadequate dietary supply causes membranes to become stiff, losing thier ability to self regulate. EFAs are found in very high concentration in the Brain as transmiters for nerve impulses. A dietary deficiency of essential fatty acids rapidly leads to reduced learning ability and memory.

Outlined in the table below is the nutritional content of Hempseed oil. Hemp oil unlike no other has the unique blend of Linoleic Acid (LA 57%) part of the (Omega 3 series, the most important essential fatty) acid and is used in the synthesis of other essential fatty acids such as Gamma Linoleic Acid.

Alpha Linolenic Acid (LNA 19%)part of the Omega 6 series of fatty acids, unlike other similar oils these are balanced by the 3-to-1 ratio that match human nutritional needs. EFAs are the building block of longer fatty acid chains.

Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA 1.7%) is vital to human life and is associated with hair and nail growth and can reduce inflammation of joints. It is also a precursor to Series 1 prostaglandins(PGE1) and other hormones in the body. GLA is key regulator of T-lymphocyte functions in the immune system and is involved in cell metabolism and growth. Deficiencies in GLA will cause numerous serious health implications.

Hempseed oil also provides an adequate supple of antioxidants (Vitamins E), Carotene (precursor to Vitamin A), phytosterols, phospholipids and a number of mineral including calcium, magnesium, sulphur, potassium, phosphorus along with a modest amount of iron and zinc.

EFA's are unstable and turn rancid if not looked after, organic hemp oil should be stored in a cool dark place, ideally in a refrigerator. On receiving Hemp oil it should be consumed in six months of opening. Do not exceed 150ml per day.

Although a healthy body can make GLA from dietary Linoleic Acid its production can be blocked for a number of reasons. Conversation of LA to GLA can be impaired if the body is deficient in zinc, magnesium and vitamins C, B-6, B-3 and A. The body requires a constant supply and diet as the chief source plays a key role. Conversion can be blocked by diets high in hydrogenated vegetable oils and margarine (that's why our hempseed's cold pressed (ZERO hydrogenation!)). Gamma Linolenic Acid is frequently deficient in Eczema, Arteriosclerosis, Diabetes Millitus, Cancer, PMS and ADHD patients.

Hempseed oil is the only tasty oil, it has a uniquely balanced profile of both LA and LNA. It also TASTES GREAT !!!
