The follow-up to Jimi's debut, Axis: Bold As Love was a bit of a change. Sure, the psychedelic trip was still there, but a more tender side to Jimi showed in the new songs, especially "Little Wing" (my personal all time favorite).
If the opening EXP didn't totally blow your mind, and your speakers, you were in for a wonderful ride. From jazz (Up From The Skies), to political statements (If 6 Was 9), "Axis" had it all. A great second album, to show all those who thought he could do no better than his debut.
Get the 1997 release, not this version. This one is for the completists, like myself. Another 'stamp' pack inside, like AYE? (1993). Jimi deserved better than this Alan. A lot better.
