I just got an email from Henrik Herranen at VLSI.
He's checked the files I sent, and found the source of the problem.

The mail explains that the problem is NOT the decoder. It's a problem
with erroneous headers in some songs.

Read it here :

I've modified the problem files according to this, and it works perfectly.

Hi Erik,

You must have a problem with your design.

I've downloaded and tried ALL the compliance testfiles from Fraunhofer.

There was NO PROBLEM on neither my yampp-3 or on the VLSI reference
player. All files play as expected.

It has nothing to do with files starting with 00 00 20, but has to do with
"fake"
MP1 headers or similar in the datastream BEFORE a valid MP3 header.
Please read Henrik Herranens mail again.

/Jesper
