This book defines the full architecture of the GSM system. A complete description of the entities in GSM: the MSC, the BSC, and the BTS is given, as well as a detailed description on how they are working.

All interfaces: A, Abis, and Ater are described in detail, including a full reference on the protocols employed.

The whole structure of the layered messaging system is described down to the last bit.

The air interface protocols are thoroughly defined, and coverage predicition, frequency planning, and parameter setup is handled in detail.
