Shiver me timbers! It's a pirate party!

Ahoy ye mateys!

I threw a pirate party for my son when he turned 5, and it was great! The main attractions being a treasure hunt (of course) and a pirate ship cake.

Invitations-The invitations were neat. I printed out the party info on parchment paper, then singed the edges with a match to age it. Roll it up and stick it into a bottle, and hand-deliver them.

Food-

Deep Sea Snack mix-
1 small bag goldfish crackers
1 cup gummy worms
1 cup gummy sharks
1 bag gold-foil wrapped chocolate coins
Combine all and divide into sandwich bags for each guest.
This is good for filling the treasure chest!

Games-

• Treasure Hunt

• Fishing for Prizes-Wrap favors (have enough for each child) and tie with curling rbbon, leaving a loop of ribbon for them to "catch". Place all the prizes in a tub or small wading pool. Each child takes a turn with a fishing pole to "catch a prize.
  NOTE- DO NOT USE REAL FISHING HOOKS! I formed a hook out of a piece of wire clotheshanger.

• Walk the plank-Set out a long length of 2x4 board so they can walk the plank.
