Natrol, Inc., a diversified nutritional supplement company headquartered in Southern California, manufactures and markets branded, high quality nutritional supplements, teas and sports fitness products. In addition, Natrol is a primary manufacturer producing its own capsules and tablets as well as a contract manufacturer for select private label customers.

Elliott Balbert founded the company in 1980, initially, as a multi-faceted cosmetics firm. Two years later, anticipating the imminent explosion in the industry, he guided Natrol's reinvention as a major contender in the nutritional supplements arena. Since the introduction of its first supplement, Natrol has continued to grow, with the current product line including more than 500 SKUs and products bearing the Natrol logo.

In 1998, Natrol acquired the Pure Gar Garlic Company, which today exists under the Essentially Pure Ingredients division, offering quality raw material ingredients to other manufacturers and co-packers of dietary supplements.

Under the leadership of Mr. Balbert, the company completed a successful public offering in July, 1998, and now trades on the NASDAQ (NTOL).

Natrol acquired the Laci Le Beau Tea business in October of 1998. The marketing and distribution synergies of the two companies provided a meaningful opportunity as both companies distribute across all channels of trade under one brand name. Natrol's goal for all of our Laci Le Beau teas is to bring well-being and quality to our customers' tea drinking moments.

In 1999, the Company acquired Pro lab Nutrition, a developer and marketer of sports fitness products. The acquisition provided Natrol with the opportunity to enter the sports nutrition arena.

Quality Un compromised sets Natrol apart from many other brands on the market today. It is, first and foremost, the very foundation of the Natrol philosophy.

Natrol is constantly broadening its horizons by creating new and innovative products, staying on the cutting edge, and providing consumers a better quality of life.

Natrol participates in the Natural Nutrition Foods Association (NNFA) Good Manufacturing Practics (GMP) Certification Program, and has received and "A" rating in GMP compliance. This program ensures that all elements of the manufacturing process are reviewed to provide assurance that safety and quality is built into products during manufacture.
