Pre-1995

Strength Systems USA builds sport nutrition and weight loss business.

1995

Investment Banker buys Strength Systems USA and installs new Management creating new company: AmeriFIT, Inc.

1996

AmeriFIT turns its focus toward “wellness” products, appealing to a broader array of consumers. AmeriFIT was one of the first companies to introduce zinc lozenges and offer other innovative new products and technologies like DHEA and St. John’s Wort.

1998

Amerifit introduces its first major branded innovation: Estroven, a more complete supplement for women for before, during and after menopause. AmeriFIT was also one of a select few herbal product manufacturers recognized by SELF-magazine as an “Herbal All Star” for product quality, reliability and service.

1999

In late 1999, AmeriFIT merged with Medical Foods; a functional foods pioneer with a pipeline of scientifically validated products and emerging formulations that address key consumer medical and health concerns. The new company, Amerifit Nutrition Inc., is a cutting edge, innovative leader in the nutritional supplement industry, focused on building brands in the burgeoning women’s health and joint care categories.

2000

Amerifit Nutrition’s leading branded product Estroven, proudly became the #1 supplement SKU in the US! This extraordinary accomplishment was driven by the launch of a multi-million dollar national television advertising campaign as well as continued expansion of retail distribution. The TV commercial featured mothers talking to daughters and focuses on the theme “Don’t wait until menopause to get Estroven.” Throughout the year, the commercial’s message generated amazingly positive responses and helped to increase Estroven sales dramatically.

2000 also marked the launch of Amerifit Nutrition’s joint care line under the Flex Able brand name. The Flex Able name, bold unique purple package graphics stand out on the retail shelf from a very cluttered but growing joint care category. Flex Able is available in an extensive variety of delivery system options that address key areas of joint health many other products overlook including: great tasting Flex Able Chewables (available in All-Natural and Sugar-Free), a convenient, once-per-day pre-measured powdered drink mix and Flex Able PM, a nighttime formula that promotes natural, comfortable sleep patterns.

2001

Amerifit Nutrition focused on further establishing its brands through the introduction of new products, increased national and international distribution and launching aggressive advertising support campaigns

Throughout the year, Estroven remained the #1 selling supplement SKU in America and continued to be supported by national advertising. The introduction of easy-to-swallow Estroven Gelcaps in February and a unique, all natural Estroven PMS formula in September expanded the offerings under the Estroven brand. Flex Able brand joint care supplements were backed by an advertising campaign in which consumers were introduced to the “Easy-to-Take Glucosamine.” The focus on the unique formulas and convenient product forms led Flex Able to the position as the #1 Chewable and #2 Drink Mix in the joint care category. Sootherbs became the fastest growing natural cough/cold lozenge in the category as sales of the cherry flavored Zinc, Echinacea and Vitamin C lozenges more than doubled. Responding to the success of cherry, Sootherbs introduced a new honey lemon flavor in July.

Amerifit Nutrition also broke into the vitamin category in November with the launch of a patented new vitamin in the form of a bubble gum gumball. The new brand is called Vitaball ®. Each Vitaball ® vitamin gumball delivers 11 essential vitamins in a great tasting gumball. Each package is a unique, tapered canister which offers four kid-selected gumball flavors (Cherry, Grape, Watermelon and Bubble Gum)
