             Kugon is an erect, perennial grass 30 –80 cm long high. It has characteristically prominent underground stem or scaly roots. The slender stems are solid and are either smooth or hairy. The leaves are are flat, linear, 20 –50 cm long and 5-9 mm wide.

             It is found in wild places, roadsides, fields and hillsides throughout the philippines
