Family Liliaceae Scientific name: Aloe Barbadensis Mill. Other names: Acibar (Span.) Dilang boaia (Bik.) Aloe (Engl.) Dilang Guaga (Sor., Mas.) Alubera (Ant.) Dilang-halo (Bis.) Atsibar (Sul., Taw., Zambo.) Sabila pinya (Tag.) Cactus (Cag. , If.) Savilla (Zambo.) Curaco (Engl.) Sabila is an herb 30-40 cm high. The leaves arise from the ground. They are smooth, thick, fleshy, mucilaginous, succulent, 20-50 cm long., 5-8 cm wide, tapering, light green with white blotches. The margins have weak prckles. The flowering stalks are erect, usually 2 times, the height of the plant. The flowers are yellow, 2-3 cm long. Sabila is usually cultivated for ornamental purposes. It is propagated by separation.
