Flu
The herb Elderberry contains natural substances that can stop a virus from invading healthy body cells. Take Elderberry at the first sign of flu. It is available in a variety for forms, including dried for tea, liquid tinctures, and tablets. Follow label recommendations.

Flu Prevention
Ginseng (Panax ginseng) is used as a preventative for influenza. One hospital study showed it to be more effective than the flu shots the hospital administered. Take 100-200 mg of Panax ginseng (also called Asian or Korean ginseng) daily. Use a supplement that is standardized to four to seven percent ginsenosides.

If one family member develops influenza, treatment with Black Elderberry tincture will protect other family members from the flu. The flu sufferer will also recover faster by using this herbal tincture as the label directs.

One herb in particular, Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum), is specifically recommended for the treatment of flu. You can combine boneset with elder flower, licorice and peppermint. Prepare this mixture as a strong tea, and drink one cup every 2 or 3 hours for relief. Omit the peppermint if you take homeopathic remedies.
