Here is a list of herbs that can be used as teas for a headache. In general, use one or two teaspoons of the dried herb to one cup of boiling water.

Herbal remedies can provide a natural alternative to drug analgesics for the pain of headache. Combine chamomile and skullcap, and brew a tea. Sip while you relax for 1- to 15 minutes. Time for relaxation and deep breathing can speed pain relief.
Quick Headache Relief
For an average (not migraine) headache, try this quick treatment. Rub a few drops of lavender essential oil on your temples. The combination of the essential oil, the light massage, and the aromatherapy can stop that headache in its tracks. Try to think of something soothing when you do this, such as a pretty place or a relaxing piece of music.
