Rating:
PG for some mild profanity.
Spoilers:
Well, um...basically any episode that had both Michael and Maria in it...
Legal
Stuff: Roswell doesn't belong to me. It belongs to Jason Katmis Productions and
The WB. I just enjoy writing. I hope that's not a crime. It will be a sad day
when
writing is a crime...anyway...on with the show.
Also:
"Beautiful Stranger" Belongs to Madonna and whatever production team
worked on the song. Used without permission.
Author's Note: This is my first attempt at an M/M fic, despite the way I feel
about this couple, but I heard the song, and I was inspired. Please R/R, but
humor me.

"Haven't
we met? You're some kind of beautiful stranger.
You could be good for me. I have a taste for danger.
If I'm smart then I'll run away, but I'm not so I guess I'll stay...
Heaven forbid, I take my chance on a beautiful stranger..."
I'd seen him
around. I hadn't really noticed him all that much, I knew a few girls who
thought he was cute or whatever. He had just been that guy who hung out with
the guy who was obsessed with my best friend.
Until that day.
God, I talk like
I'm a soap opera. But it wasn't an everyday occurrence. Liz Parker, my best
friend, got shot. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. Everything
went in slow motion. I heard the shot, and I just knew, it was like one of
those ESP experiences, I knew that she was going to get hurt.
So, she got shot,
Max Evans healed her. Oh, that alien thing. You know, Liz kept that from me.
She knew he was an alien, yet she didn't tell me. Of course I weaseled it out
of her. Then I freaked. Actually, it took me awhile to get used to the entire
idea of having aliens for friends. Then again they really weren't
friends...Until he stole my car.
That is the
weirdest thing, I really got to know the guy because he stole my car. No,
that's not the weirdest thing. The weirdest thing is that he stole my car to
find out about his alien heritage. Okay, I don't even want to go into the
weirdest thing. I mean, come on, ALIENS!
So, I freak out
alot. What's wrong with that? If I didn't freak out all the time, I don't think
he would have kissed me. So, there are perks.
"I looked
into your eyes, and my world came tumbling down.
You're the devil in disguise, that's why I'm singing this song...
To know you, is to love you.
You're everywhere I go and everybody knows
To love you is to be part of you..."
Did I say love?
No. He said love, but that came later. I mean the guy said he loved me, then
wooo! Walks away. Jerk. Where was I?
So he steals my car,
we find out all this alien stuff, he kisses me, and this is where it all
begins. You see, it sort of secret relationship, but the guy had enough secrets
or something so he found it good to tell all his friends. Of course, it's not
like I didn't mention a few things to Liz...
But that's beside
the point. So as we go along in this "relationship" he gets sick. So
all of five of us (Strange how it went from five to nine, isn't it? Anyway..)
drag his sorry, sweaty, dying ass out through the sweltering heat, then as
night falls the freezing cold, to this Indian Reservation. Then we have to go
through the woods, where we couldn't take the car, and had to carry him out to
this magic cave, where we can use alien powers to heal him. Oh, and after he
snaps out of it who does he go and hug? Max and Isabel. No..not his girlfriend.
Not the person who has been kissing those sexy lips for the past...not very
long. He goes and shows all affection to Max and Isabel.
So after I tell
him off and he makes this freaking gorgeous napkin holder (Hey, I'm partial) to
make up for saving his life. I mean, savior...napkin holder? I don't think it
balances...he gives me this "I'm a Stone Wall...I have to have my guard
up" line which I bit and reeled me in. Of course he threw me back, which
didn't make me happy.
"I paper
you with tears and swallow all my pride.
Beautiful Stranger...Beautiful Stranger...
If I'm smart then I'll run away, but I'm not so guess I'll stay
Haven't you heard? I fell in love with a beautiful stranger.
I looked into your face...my heart was dancing all over the place...
I'd like to change my point of view if I could just forget about you..."
Me? Forget about
him? Yeah right. Okay, moving on...
So we go through
this weird "We can't look at each other" period, but yeah that ceases
when Liz starts getting these weird flashes of the '47 crash. So Michael and
casually make out, and I lie to him and tell him I'm getting freaky flashes. I
mean what is wrong with a little lie? Obviously a lot, since when I told him I was
lying, he was really pissed. So we make up, and then the weirdest thing happens
(Maybe this is the weirdest thing). It's suddenly okay for alien/human
relationships to happen. So Max and Liz are happy. Michael and I are happy.
Well, at least I think he's happy. It's hard to tell.
So then this
little bitch Tess comes along and tells all of us that she's supposed to
be with Max and Michael is supposed to be with Isabel. Okay, now at first I
have to say I thought it was just a line to get Max, even though we like saw
her put together this like ancient statue thingy with the wave of her hand.
So everyone goes
through lots of turmoil, which brings us to May. May was...strange.
You see, there's
this alien hunter guy who works for this special unit in the FBI specifically
for hunting aliens, which sucks if your an alien. So this guy finds Max and
takes him to this special unit of the FBI. But of course Liz, Alex, and I are
left to worry our asses off because we're lowly humans. So they get Max out,
and then we're left with the last episode.
"To know
you is to love you...
You're everywhere I go, and everybody knows.
I looked into your eyes and my world came tumbling down.
You're the devil in disguise. That's why I'm singing this song to you.
To know you is to love you..."
After nine
grueling months of hiding from Sheriff Valenti, we tell him that we have four
aliens just walking about Roswell, and he's cool with it. Make the past nine
months of hiding out seem really worthless.
So we get Agent
Pierce, Mister Special Unit tied up and Max is interrogating him, which
actually pretty cool, until Kyle had to come around with his high and mighty
gun, which was actually his dad's gun. Smoooth Mooove, Kyle.
Okay, so Kyle,
trusting Pierce (Hey, he's naive. He didn't know any better, I'll give him
that) unties him and gives him the gun. So Pierce tries to kill Valenti with
his own gun, and Valenti fires a few shots, but none hit Pierce, so Michael
uses his powers to kill Pierce. And Valenti ends up shooting Kyle, and then Max
does his little "handiwork" and saves Kyle's life. If you've been
counting this takes the "People who know about the aliens" count up
to nine.
So after this
Michael's really depressed. You see he has this idea that he kills people and
Max saves them...now patterns aside, this is not true. Also this is where
Michael just kinda mentions that he loves me. And what's not to love?
So over the summer
we kind of avoided each other. But times change, people change. I'm still a
sarcastic bitch, and Michael's still absolutely impossible to deal with. And my
mom's Jetta has seen it all.
So we come to now.
My god a lot has happened in the past three weeks. And I'm actually getting
used to this, if you can imagine. After months of not answering my calls,
Michael tells me why, in this incredibly romantic way, even though I don't
think he meant it to be, but damn! It's pretty back there with all the pods and
alien life sources.
So that's the saga
of me and Michael in about, fifteen paragraphs. I could on. I probably left
some stuff out. It's probably out of order, but hey, there were times there
when I'm risking my ass for him, or vise versa. I like it when he risks his ass
for me. Even if that doesn't happen often...or at all. Anyway. That's it. My
story, and that's it.
"You're
everywhere I go, and everybody knows.
I paper you with tears and swallow all my pride.
Beautiful Stranger...Beautiful Stranger..."
