All I Ask of You
No more
talk of darkness,
Forget
these wide-eyed fears;
I’m here,
nothing can harm you,
My words
will warm and calm you.
Let me
be your freedom,
Let daylight
dry your tears;
I’m here,
with you, beside you,
To guard
you and to guide you.
Draco Malfoy
hugged Hermione Granger tightly. Through the past year, she had been through
so much. The poor thing couldn’t fall asleep at night ever. I wouldn’t
be able to fall asleep either, Draco reminded himself, thinking of
how Voldemort had tortured her through dreams. They were twenty-years-old
now, and Voldemort had recently be defeated by Harry Potter, who died protecting
his only love, Hermione.
All I ask
is ev’ry waking moment,
Turn my
head with the talk of summertime.
Say you
need me with you now and always;
Promise
me that all you say is true,
That’s
all I ask of you.
Draco had been
there with Harry and Ron, who also died too. Draco was the only survivor
from the battle with Voldemort, and he was tormented with flashbacks of
blood and dead bodies. But what he went through was nothing like what Hermione
had to go through. She watched the battle through her dreams all seventh
year and for the two years after Hogwarts. She saw her two best friends
in the whole world die over and over and over. And she never knew that
Harry loved her. Until he died.
Let me be
your shelter,
Let me
be your light;
You’re
safe, no one will find you,
Your fears
are far behind you.
And now Hermione
was dying. Slowly. All the pain that Voldemort had caused her had driven
her into a state of illness, where she could no longer sleep…ever. Today,
Hermione was sicker than ever. But Draco was there with her, and that’s
all that mattered.
All I want
is freedom,
A world
with no more night;
And you,
always beside me,
To hold
me and to hide me.
It was odd
how they ended up loving each other. One moment, they were enemies, the
next, Harry, Ron, and Draco were fighting for their lives and against Voldemort.
And then Draco and Hermione were in love. She needed him. To hold her and
to guide her.
Then say
you’ll share with me one love,
One lifetime;
Let me
lead you from your solitude.
Say you
need me with you,
Here beside
you,
Anywhere
you go, let me go too,
That’s
all I ask of you.
Draco knew
he would die without her. They loved each other with such passion, but
Hermione was weak and soon would leave this world and surpass into one
greater…perhaps one without night.
All I ask
is for one love,
One lifetimel
Say the
word and I will follow you.
Share each
day with me, each night, each morning.
Anywhere
you go, let me go too;
Love me,
that’s all I ask of you.
"I love you, Draco," Hermione whispered, as he clung to her. "You know that, don’t you? I love you…." And she was silent, dead.
"Hermione!" he sobbed, clutching to her lifeless body. "Don’t leave without me. Please!"
Draco pulled
out a knife, sobbing, and stabbed himself in the heart, falling on top
of her like Romeo and Juliet. And all was quiet.
