I seem to be so cruel,
So unforgiving and hurtful,
Yet deep down, I really love you;

They way you laugh and your perfect smile;
The way you sigh and brush aside
my rude remarks, telling me you know
by the rules of love, no one will abide.

I'll snap and I'll be rude,
but I'd never really hurt you.
I know I probably do with my words,
but I really don't mean to.

How much I wish I could just open up
and tell you that I love you;
Tell you the truth about
my feelings so deep, so true.

I'd give most anything to take
back everything I've ever said.
I'd give my entire reputation if
you'd love me 'till we're both dead.

I know you'll never love me,
though I can always dream.
So for now, I'll have to admire from afar,
until I can get over you and beam.
