I'll Wait Forever

It's been forever
And yet, I can remember
Everything that happened
That faithful September

The stars were shining
Oh so high in the sky
And as I stared up at them
I could only wonder why

Why I was out here
Standing in the cold
Why I still waited
Just as I was told

And then he came
leaving footprints on the ground
He walked right up to me
And that's when I found

He wasn't as evil as he looked
Or as mean as he had seemed before
Just misunderstood and lonely
Needing attention more and more

His sharp boned features showed his sorrow
His eyes were full of tears
And he said to me, in that sad voice of his
That he had so many fears

This made my eyes fill up, like his
I reached over and held him tight
And assured him, that no matter what,
Everything would be all right

He looked up at me, with a watery smile
And suddenly I could tell
That he had trusted me, right from the start
I would make all well

As the years passed, I learned to love him
I took him as my friend
I would forever take care of him
Until the very end

One day, things went very wrong
From what I had orginally planned
He told me that he had to leave
To go to a faraway land

I shed a thousand tears for him
I begged him not to go
I told him that I loved him
But feelings he didn't show

He said it was his destiny
He had to find himself
He said he'd always think of me
Keep my picture on his shelf

But what I remembered most
Was that he said he loved me too
It took all his strength to leave me
But this was one thing he just had to do

I understood his need to go
I then felt all his pain
What he had experienced since birth
He needed something to gain

And so with that, I said goodbye
I cried oceans of tears on that day
I said I'd always wait for him
And that I hoped he'd stay

I swear I saw him shed a tear
As he walked along the moonlit trail
And just like that, he was gone from my life
Not even letters or mail

I've loved him since forever
As I realize now
And I can only hope he loves me too
Although I don't see how

And that's why I sit and wait
By the window pane
Doing nothing but staring
At the pouring rain

I have always loved the skies
Now I love them even more
For they remind me of him
Goodness right down to the core

His face is in the constellations
His hair is the silver moon
His shining eyes are the shimmering stars
And I wish I could see him soon

With each passing day, I love him more
My love will fade, never
He holds a place, right in my heart
For him, I'll wait forever

AN: Forgive the pathetic rhymes. Writing poems is harder than it looks. Well, at least I think so. I
was thinking of Draco and Hermione when I wrote this. But then again, I'm always thinking of Draco
