Welcome to the Great Hall! I hope you enjoy the chatroom, but please remember your manners and abide by the rules below. Originally, I had decided on holding feasts, where I would have a supervised chat session; however, I no longer have the time to do this. Sorry! |

So you are prepared to be a polite chatter, I compiled a list of rules that you should abide. If you misbehave, I will give you two warnings and then kick you out. Please remember that children may be present! |

Chat Etiquette:
1. DO NOT use vulgar language, profanity, make racist, sexist, or any other demeaning remarks.
2. Do not "flood" the chat room. (Flooding is this: a s a d oiu wo a dks oau s aoi.)
3. The chat is for the discussion of JK Rowling and Harry Potter books ONLY!
4. If you notice any of these things while you are in the chat room, report it here. Remember to include the username and what they were doing wrong. |

Chat Commands:
1. /me does something Allows you to type in an action or emotion. eg. "/me tickles Ginny" would appear as (your username) tickles Ginny.
2. /msg username text Allows you to send a message to a single chatter. eg. "/msg Ginny Let's pretend we've left" would be sent to Ginny and only Ginny.
3. /join channel If you are in a non-organized chat and no one is there, this allows you to join another SPiN chat channel. Channels to try are: HarryPotter, _HarryPotter (type: /join HarryPotter or /join _HarryPotter). |

When you are done chatting, remember to close the chat window! Too many windows open at one time can cause your computer to crash! :o( |
