Donald Lee Wheeler the
3rd died on Oct 31, 2000 in the housefire with my family. Donnie was born
on November 7,1998. He was 23 months old when he died.

This child was undescribale,
he was beautiful, he loved the color yellow, and everthing he seen was
yellow,he loved bumble bees and yellow m&m's. He loved to watch Barney
on t.v. and he would always sing and dance. He was a very active little
guy, he loved to play with J.P. and Matt, he would go outside and play
ball and jump on the trampoline with them.

He was just starting his first
summer learning how to play in our pool. He went to a christian daycare
and had many friends. He was just learning how to say complete sentences
right before he died.

His birthday would have been
a week after he died. We had his birthday party all planed and his other
grandmother had bought him so many toys for his big day.

Donnie died in bed with his
mom Shannon, they were found together after the fire. Donnie made me so
proud. He called me mom-mom and he called Dick, pop-pop, he would sit in
Dick's lap at nite time and give him lots of kisses. He was very affectionate
and a good listner. He made it so easy to be his mommom.
I love him so and miss him more then people will ever know. I know that
my husband and my children and my grandson are with Christ in Heaven, and
I know what my future holds, that I will someday be with them and we will
have eternal life together.
My heart hurts more then words can describe, there are no words that even
come close to what I have lost.
I do know that God is truly the only one who can and will get me thru this
pain. I have lost so much, more then anyone will in a lifetime, but i want
my husband and my children remembered.
The community that I live in has remembered them all in such wonder ways.
They planted 2 trees at the school that my boys attended and put their
names on plaques that will last a lifetime.

I have started a Shannon Gates
Scholarship fund in her name at the BeBee Hospital School of Nursing, and
each year we give a $500 scholarship to a unwed mother.
The little league where Shannon, J.P. and Matthew played ball honered them
at opening day with a big tree and their names on a plaque in their honor.
I was asked to throw out the ball in their honor on opening day, and that
was a honor for me. To know that this little town in Milton, Delaware loved,
missed and honored my children with such importance was truly wonderful.

It is hard to say how to
express what I have lost, it seems like it just is impossable to loose
so many at one time. My heart is truly sad for each of them, but I know
this website will be helpful to me and the many others who remember my
family.
