Matthew Elisha Schofied (Matt) was born on September 3, 1991, and also died in the housefire on October 31, 2000.

Matt was my red head, my special sweet son, He was so caring and loving but he also had a temper, we think it was the red hair. He had such beautiful blue eyes and the longest eyelashes I have ever seen. He was 9 when he died.

Matthew was much like his sister Shannon, they each had their own unique personality. Matt was brave, and there wasn't much that he was afraid of and I guess I could call him my little daredevil.

He loved to play outside and ride his bike. he played on the baseball league as well. He loved to play shortstop, and he was excellent doing it. When other kids were on 3rd base, they would be scared to run to homeplate because they knew Matt would be there waiting to get them out. Sometimes his coach had to remind Matt that he wasn't playing football because he would actually tackle the kids running to homeplate (he guarded his base well).

Matt was more mysterious and outgoing then his brother J.P. I think that was because he seemed to be over confident sometimes and he felt like he was always in competion with his brother. Matt was good at his own things, he loved to help Dick work on the bikes, and he would help Dick work on the cars and the boat.  

Matt was an excellent fisherman and he loved to go fishing and he would catch fish. Matt also played soccer and was one of the best on his team. He played alot with J.P. and J.P's friends, they were pretty much inseperatable.

Matt also was a caring and beautiful child, sometimes words just can't describe how beautiful my children were.
