Jane Diamondback
Jane started "life" as a doodle in class, while watching a video on archaeology (which is why, I suspect, her look appears to be a bit Lara Croft-esque). I had gotten the idea of making a snake tail into a ponytail, and Jane was the result. I made the cobra hood into the "hair" and the tail into a ponytail, thus allowing her snake heritage to be obvious despite a clearly humanoid body. I gave her ponytail a rattlesnake end, which reinforced her snake-like appearance. To make her outfit a little more different from that of Lara Croft, I gave her long pants and a triangle cut out from the bottom of her tank top. I also gave her manacles and a jeweled necklace, most likely taken from a dig site. I originally gave her a different name, though: "Jade".
Some time after that, I was made aware of a contest on Deviant Art by a man who went by the account name "AndrewDickman". He was asking for submissions for new characters for his proposed cartoon, Tail Chasers - a cartoon about a bunch of anthropomorphic animals who raced in a futuristic world on motorcycles. I decided to bring back "Jade", and make a few change for my submission. First, I changed her name (I discovered that there was another character being submitted named "Jade") to "Jane", and gave her a last name as well: "Diamondback" (Both a reference to the pattern on her back, as well as a way to fit in another snake to her profile). Since she needed to be a racer as well, I added a racing outfit in a similar style to that of the other Tail Chaser costumes, most of which had a pleather-like appearance and snaps on their jackets. Lastly, she needed a ride: the Sidewinder. I looked at his vehicles and pictures of real ones for reference, and incorporated a snake-like look to it which bore her Diamondback pattern. Regretfully, I became very ill just a few days before the deadline, and by the time I recovered, it was too late to send it in. Nonetheless, she's a rather interesting character, which hopefully, I will be able to incorporate in a future project.
