We landed in Chicago, stayed there for a day with a friend and drove down to Lafayette -West, in Indiana the next day. Its been 10 years since I last visited the US. and it was touchy to have all the memories back. 3 days passed...
Thursday I called Pam and Wiz picked up the phone and I was trying to figure our whether this is the correct number and he kept on saying from India..ohmiGod ohmiGod..and I could hear the excitement in their voices. Pam said she was about 3 hours drive -and to my disapoointment I felt it was rather a long drive and that it was impossible to leave for a day when all these (registrations, orientation, tests) were going on. Anyways she said she'd call on Saturday and we'll somehow fix up the meet.
Came Saturday and I was overjoyed by a call saying "Roops? we are in room 210 -just opposite yours" -I rushed down the doorway without thinking anything else and forgot that the taxi was waiting and we were just loading the luggage to shift to the dorm!!!
We exchanged hugs and oh it was so nice of them to come all the way here just to meet us up! Pam and Wiz are a wonderful, warm couple - they met my husband, and son, who came in, one after the other, trying to remind me that the taxi was waiting and the meter was running... hehehe

was asking for Hershy and Pam had to correct him that Hershy is not my
husband
We had a lovely evening and I kept on crashing in their room all the time -whenever I was back from the Univ.! I dont know whether they really liked the food -it was nice of them to accept the food which they had never tried earlier (in fact the food was not up to the standard -didnt have the real taste too but ohwellanyways).
Thank you Pam, and John, for spending the time with us while in Indiana. Y'know I'll keep coming back here as now I have an attachment to your beautiful area.
