Proclamation

WHEREAS,

The State of Wisconsin and the State of Hessen have maintained an

amicable and productive relationship since 1976, and

WHEREAS,

The County of Waukesha and the Kreis Offenbach have established a

formal relationship between the County and the Kreis in 2002, and

WHEREAS,

Both the City of Brookfield and the City of Seligenstadt desire to build

on the strengths of these relationships and to establish closer ties

between the people and cultures of the United States and Germany.

THEREFORE,

Be it resolved that the City of Brookfield and the City of Seligenstadt

have agreed to establish a relationship targeted to sign a sister-city

agreement in near future and become sister cities. This relationship

shall encourage cultural economic governmental and person-to-person

ties between to the two cities and their citizens and shall be considered

to encompass any activity which will enhance the understanding and

friendship of their peoples.
