DIETZENBACH AND OCONOMOWOC SISTER-CITY PARTNERSHIP RESOLUTION

 

 

          WHEREAS, the citizens of Dietzenbach and Oconomowoc have successfully undertaken initial visitations to each other’s city; and

 

            WHEREAS, each visitation has revealed a warmth in the people, a recognition of a shared heritage and a realization that there are many potential areas of common interest; and

 

            WHEREAS, those visitations have fostered a deepening interest in each other’s community and citizens; and

 

            WHEREAS, that interest has given rise to a mutual desire between the City of Dietzenbach and the City of Oconomowoc to continue to develop a more formal relationship, characterized as a Sister-City Partnership; and

 

            WHEREAS, the topical areas of education, culture, tourism, economic development and government are areas of common interest and offer great potential for future mutual benefit; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Parliament of the City of Dietzenbach and the Common Council of the City of Oconomowoc have given their consent for the creation of a formal and permanent Sister-City Partnership between the two cities.

 

            NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Parliament of the City of Dietzenbach and the Common Council of the City of Oconomowoc do ordain and establish the Sister-City Partnership for the purpose of deepening our friendship, establishing closer ties between our peoples and furthering our mutual interests in education, culture, tourism, economic development and government within our Sister-City Partnership.

 

            BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the initial areas of implementation will be education and economic development.
