July 8,97:
Assembled Seats, Headrest, and seat belts. Assembled Wings to Body for Trial Assy. and Rigging.
July 9 & 10,97:
Took wings off. Installed Throttle Mount. I was worried about the fuel tanks fittings, so I got a inspection mirror to check the O-Rings on the inside of the tanks I found three O-rings that where twisting off. The tanks would have started leaking very soon. I found out from Rans that they now have new fitting with grooves in them to keep this from happening. The fitting that this happens to are the 90 degree fitting. If they are twisted at all after they are tightened the O-rings will twist off. This will not happen with the new fittings. Checking the O-rings with an inspection mirror is a must.
July 11 & 12,97:
Ordered the new fuel fittings, O-rings, and washers. Covered the tail group section. Built paint stands for tail section.
July 13,97:
Applied the first two coats of clear on the tail group pieces. Installed Engine.

Recived new fuel tank fittings. Wet sanded tail group pieces.
