Then his thoughts drifted to Leeny. He wondered if she was interested in him. He wanted to be with her a lot. But part of him was afraid. He didn't think he could take another broken heart. But was his heart really broken now? He wasn't sure. He felt bad that she wasn't there any more but part of him was kind of relieved. Confusion filled his head. Not knowing what to do he lay back in bed and pulled the covers over his head.
*At Nick's house*
"You know, if you don't like the way your room is decorated, we can always redo it. I know that BJ and Leslie like to decorate their rooms themselves as a sort of expression." Nick and Leeny were eating breakfast.
"The room is beautiful, but that would be really cool to redo it. My old room in California was practically wall papered with Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears pictures. But now I got the real Backstreet Boys so I guess it would be kind of silly to have pictures of you guys all over."
"That wouldn't be that weird. I'd like to go into a room that was completely wall papered with my gorgeous face."
"Nick Carter, you are one of the most conceited people in the world."
"But not as conceited as Nsync right?"
"I don't think anyone is that conceited."
"No, but back to your room. I'm not doing anything today, so if you want to go and buy stuff to redecorate, me and Brian can take you."
"Yeah, that would be great."
"I'll call him right now."
*At Kevin's house*
"Man Kev, you're not really going to go to that restaurant again are you?" Brian asked.
"Yes I am. I need to see her again."
"She's going to think you're some psycho dude."
"Not if she believes in love at first sight she won't."
"So what are you going to say. 'Hi miss, do you believe in love at first sight because I think I'm in love with you'? She'll really think you're nuts man."
"I don't care, I at least need to try. I don't know what's come over me man. I've never felt this way before. Not even with Christine."
"Wow. Well good luck Kev."
"Thanks I'll need it."
"I'll get that," Brian said reaching for the phone. "Hello."
"Bri, this is Nick. What are you doing today."
"Nothing that I can think of. Why?"
"Do you want to go with me and Leeny to buy stuff to redecorate her room with?"
"Yeah, that's cool."
"We'll be over there to pick you up in about an hour."
"Alright. I need to get away from a certain someone who is talking crazy about a certain waitress from last night."
"Kev? What waitress?"
"I'll tell you about it when we go."
"Ok then, see you in a hour."
"Bye."
*At Claudia's house*
"Howie, AJ wants you on the phone." Claudia called up to Howie who just got out of the shower. Howie had practically moved in with Claudia since she couldn't live with him at his mom's house.
Howie came down stairs kissing Claudia on cheek and then taking the phone. "Hello."
"She dumped me."
"What?"
"She dumped me. Last night when I came home she accused me of cheating on her and she said it was over. She left, just like that."
"Oh my God Bone. Are you ok?"
"I'm not sure. Look D, I don't know if I can live without her. I have been with her for three years."
"On and off."
"Yeah, but I always knew we would end up back together."
"There are other women out there you know?"
"I know but, it just won't be the same. I was with Amanda for three years. She's used to my crap. I don't think anyone else can put up with it."
"Leeny seems pretty tolerant."
"Oh, and as if Nick would really approve. Besides, she's kind of young."
"Aje, when it comes to love, age ain't nothing but a number."
"Not to the police it ain't."
"You pretty much kept yours and Amanda's relationship on the down low. So you can do the same for yours and Leeny's."
"Who ever said I wanted a relationship with Leeny?"
"Hmm, let me see. I do recall someone saying that they were very attracted to her. Attracted enough to cheat on their girlfriend. And at the restaurant, I seen the way you look at her. And I seen the way she looks at you. There is something there man. Don't miss out."
"I don't know D. She's a special girl. I don't want her getting hurt more than she already is."
"Then don't hurt her."
"I can't make any promises D. You know I have commitment problems. Amanda use to just over look them. Or we'd break up for a while and get back together. Leeny doesn't look like she'd put up with that."
"AJ, by the way you look at this girl, I can tell you won't be having commitment problems with her. And we'll all be there to help."
"Maybe you're right."
"I'm always right. So go call her and ask her out on a date."
"No, I can't do that."
"Don't tell me Pimp Daddy McLean is nervous."
"Shut up Howie. I'm not nervous. I just think that I need to get to know her a little better before I jump the gun."
"Fine, then tomorrow night we are going to go clubbing. We'll invite the whole gang. You know Nick will bring Leeny. And that way you can get to know her."
"All right. Thanks D."
*At the restaurant*
Kevin looked around the small restaurant nervously. He prayed she was working this afternoon. He asked one of the other waiters if she was working and he said he'd go and check. Kevin gasped as he seen her walking towards him. Her long curls were pulled back in a ponytail with a few loose curls framing her face.
"Hello sir, may I help you?"
"Um, yes. Do you remember me? I was here last night."
"Oh yes. Was there a problem sir?"
"No everything was fine. And please call me Kevin. I just um came to uh. When is your next day off?"
"Call me Kenzie. I have tomorrow night off. Why?"
"Well Kenzie, I was wondering if maybe you would like to go out tomorrow night."
"That would be nice."
"How about I pick you up around seven?"
"Ok, here is my number. Call me and I'll tell you where you can pick me up."
"Cool, until tomorrow."
Kevin smiled to himself as he left the restaurant.
