September 2002
Dear Parents,
I hope your children experienced a safe
and successful opening to our new school year. I would like to invite you to a
back-to-School Night at Hewitt so you can meet your childs teacher and learn
about the programs, procedures, and expectations for your child this year.
Parents may report directly to their childs classroom at the time and date
indicated below. This night is meant to provide you with important information
concerning the plan of instruction for the 2002-2003 school year. We look
forward to seeing you at this time.

Our PTA Hospitality Committee will
provide refreshments in the library from 7:00 to 8:30 on both evenings. Please
join us for coffee, cake, and conversation. Weve scheduled the special area
teachers at the same time as the Kindergarten Back-to-School session. Therefore,
you will not have a conflict with any grade level teachers presentation. Again,
please note that special area teachers are available ONLY on the evening of
September 10 from 7:00 7:30. We look forward to seeing you in the library for
that session.
Parents, please remember to keep the line area clear in
the morning. This will help facilitate a smooth entrance into the school for the
children.
I would also like to remind parents that
the cutouts in front of the building are designated exclusively for the buses
during arrival and dismissal. We have eight buses bringing children to Hewitt.
For that reason, it is imperative that we keep this area clear to other
vehicles. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this important matter.
Please remember hat the area between the cones on DeMott Avenue is a drop off
area only. Aides and student safety patrol will assist all children that are
left here by parents driving vehicles. Many parents have told us how helpful
this valet drop-off is for them and much safer it is for the children.
Since the safety of our children is our
main concern, please remind your child to report to the Main Office immediately
if you are late in picking him/her up. We hope everyone had a positive opening
day of school. Were looking forward to another great school year.
Yours Truly,
Joanne Spencer
