SPRING RECESS TRIPS AND EVENTS
All trip
participants must be registered members of the RVC Parks & Recreation
Department for the 2002-2003 fiscal year. A parental permission slip
and appropriate fee for each trip must be submitted to the Rec. Center
office for trip registration. Registration is accepted on a first come,
first served basis.
Please notify the office immediately if
for any reason you cannot attend a trip or activity for which you have
pre-registered.

FRIDAY,
APRIL 18:
EGG COLORING CONTEST, at the Rec Center for children in grades k-5. Each child
should bring 4 hard-boiled eggs to decorate using supplies provided by the Rec.
Dept. Awards will be given in various age groups. Pre-registration required.
K-1 will
meet from 10-11am. Grades 2-5 will meet from 11:30am-12:30pm FEE:
$2.00


MONDAY
APRIL 21:
FUN ZONE TRIP,
Farmingdale, for grades 1-8. Trip includes unlimited use of
rides and 35
game tokens. Extra tokens may be purchased at the facility.
Nathan’s, located within Fun Zone, is open for food purchases.
Bus leaves the Rec. Center at 12:30pm and returns at approx. 4:30pm. FEE:
$18.00

TUESDAY
APRIL 22:
SPRING HAS SPRUNG CRAFT ACTIVITY. Join us
as we welcome the blossoming of Spring with our colorful creations! This
activity is for grades K-4. Please Specify class time choice when registering for a fun day of arts and crafts.
10:30 - 11:45am or 12:15-
1:30pm
Classes fill up quickly - early
pre-registration is a must! FEE $7:00


WEDNESDAY APRIL 23:
ADVENTURE LAND IN FARMINGDALE .
For grades 2 & up, this trip includes 3 hours of unlimited rides. There is a
height requirement for many rides. The snack bar is open for food purchases. Bus
leaves the Rec Center at 12:30 and returns approximately 5:15pm.
FEE $22.00

THURSDAY
APRIL 24:
ANNUAL SPRING PET SHOW
for children at the Rec Center. Bring your pet dog, cat , gerbil, lizard, etc.
to be judged for the smallest, largest, most talented, etc. Ribbons will be
awarded in the various categories.
NO FEE, but pre-registration is required.
To be held at 10:00am


THURSDAY APRIL 24:
ICE SKATING TRIP TO LONG BEACH ARENA, Two hours of ice skating fun for grades
1-8. Bus leaves the Rec Center at 2:15 pm and returns at approximately 5:30pm.
Nathan's and video games will be open for purchase. Fee $10.00, includes skate
rental.

FRIDAY
APRIL 25: BOWLING AT RVC LANES.
Children will meet at and return to the Rec Center. Bumpers are available for
1st & 2nd graders. The snack bar will be open for purchases.
Grades 1 & 2 From 12:00 - 2:30pm
Grades 3 & up 12:30 - 3:00pm
Fee $10.00

SPRING RECESS GYM
& GAME SCHEDULE
The following is a schedule of hours the Recreation Center will have “OPEN
GYM AND GAME” for students in grades 4 and Up. Activities include
Basketball, Nintendo 64, and Ping Pong under the supervision of the
Recreation staff. Come down to the Rec and meet your friends for an
afternoon of fun! The only other ingredients for a good time are a
valid Recreation card and a pair of sneakers.

MONDAY APRIL21 thru SATURDAY APRIL 26 From 12:30 -4:30pm
THOSE IN GRADES 6 & UP ARE
INVITED TO OPEN GYM AND GAMES ON THE SAME DATES
FROM 7:30 - 10:15PM
