Luigi's Mansion was first shown as a graphical demo back at GAMECUBE's unvieling at Spaceworld 2000. This "demo" was short but did a great job showcaseing the graphical power of Nintendo's new super system. Then months latter at E3 2001 Nintendo officially announces that this "Demo" is actually a launch title for their little cube. |

Gameplay |
Luigi inherits a huge mansion. He decides to go check out his new house once there he discovers that the mansion is already occupied by alot of ghosts that are in no hurry to leave. Luigi arms himself. His wepon of choice a vacume cleaner and a flashlight. Luigi then bumps into a strange doctor who informs Luigi that he has the ability to transform Ghosts into paintings. Luigi Needs to capture the slipery spectures. Luigi's Mansion is not a Platformer. The game plays more like Resident Evil than Mario Bros. Luigi is controlled with the C stick leaving the regular analog stick to control aiming of his flashlight. The flashlight is used to stun ghosts then useing the vacume the ghost can be sucked up and captured. Ghosts will attack Luigi from any direction and players must be quck in Stunning and capturing the enemy. This style of gameplay is not fast and centers around interation with the environments It's basically Nintendo made survival horror. |
Visuals |
This is where the game realy stands out. Arguably one of the best looking games ever Luigi's Mansion feartures Highly detailed characters, Amazing Animation, Beautiful Textures and jaw dropping lighting FX. |
Outlook |
Luigi's Mansion is A launch title and is almost certainly in the final stages of development. But I have a feeling that there is more to this game than what we've been shown. Expect more Details from Spaceworld in a couple of weeks (Thats my prediction). As it is though Lugis's Mansion looks like a solid title and should be one of those must haves come November 5th. - kilik3 |
