Wave Race: Blue Storm |
Wave Race was first shown at Spaceworld 2000 as a demo. Even though it was a short demo, it still left the fans in awe. Then, after a loooooong wait, it was shown at E3 2001 as Wave Race: Blue Storm. It was in playable form at E3, and it is definately one of the most anticipated titles for the Gamecube. Features: Realistic Wave Physics Different wave modes, from calm to tsunami Custom Weather conditions Stunt Mode Four Players can play (N64 only had 2 players) Great Graphics Can have 8 charachters on screen at once without slowing down. Has all of the tracks from the N64 version, plus more. This game is developed by NST (Nintendo Software Technology) which were the guys who developed Ridge Racer and Pokemon Puzzle League. One of the coolest things in this game is the water effects, which reflect everything in the environment. And the reflection can be distorted if the water is ripply. They have added a new Turbo feature, which will add to the gameplay. The B button actually has a purpose in the GC version too. If you push the B button your player crouches down, enabeling you to go faster. But, there is a downfall to crouching. If you are crouching down, the ride is less stable, so you will fall over easily. If what we saw at E3 was an "early" version, then the game will definately be amazing! |
