So this is our band getting ready to take the field.  Our opening song was "Proclamation".  I think.  I'm pretty sure that's what it was.  Smack in the center is ME holding the American flag. Check out the picture to the left for a close-up of us slackers on National Line..
Butler Parade
Putzing Around
We always participated in a parade in Butler.  Here's  a collection of mostly candid shots that our band photographer took while we were standing around waiting to march.
Also, I would just like to take this time to point out that relatively large picture in the upper righthand corner.  Isn't she a hoot??? Mouse-over the picture to see who I'm talking about.  Boy, she knows how to work a camera.
Seneca Valley vs. Central Catholic @ Duquesne
Burning Alive
On a FREAKISHLY hot October Saturday, we played Central Catholic on Duqesne University's field because Central didn't have one of their own or something.  If nothing else, all I remember from this game is how badly we all wanted to get out of our uniforms and how close to blacking out I was after the halftime show.  Black spandex + heat = bad. Just bad.
Homecoming Parade
All a part of the Fun
Our homecoming festivities was a week-long activity, beginning with Spirit Week and ending with a homecoming parade on Thursday, the big game on Friday, and the dance on Saturday.
We were towards the beginning  of the parade and after it was over we always performed the halftime show for the crowd.
Miscellaneous
Friends from All Sections From bottom to top we have Jenn, Lori, and Amy Lynn.  Bove them is Michelle, Chrissy, and Dave, and way up top is Bridgette.  This is one of Jenn's pictures that she gave to the yearbook staff.  They didn't end up using it, but I figured it was a cute picture and deserved some recognition somewhere, so why not here?
We have absolutely nothing better to do than stand here and smile... Here's  a good opportunity to introduce the National Line.  The honor of holding the banner goes to the two shortest people on National Line, Amanda and Ashley.  Heh heh.  In back with the rifle is Kim, Lisa with the state flag, me with the American flag (An honor for the tallest girl.  Lisa, Jess, and I were all pretty much the same height, but I won by the hair...), Jess with the school flag, and our sergent Jen with the sabre.
Take a Stand   In the upper right corner is the ol' auxillary stands at home where we were relegated to sit throughout the game.  I rarely did for an entire duration if I could possibly help it. :-D
Um, hey. This picture wasn't taken at home, but at North Hills.  From the looks of it, it's just after halftime because we have our Band Apples and I've probably just taken out my not-so-secret-stash of Wheat Thins. Mmmm...
Veterans Day Parade  This was also not taken at home, but down in Pittsburgh for our first parade of the season.  We marched from the Civic Arena to Station's Square.  That was a good couple of miles, and I didn't feel the burn in my legs so much as my poor arms!!
Practice makes Perfect.  Well, in theory it does.
Where are we going?  Every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, practice, practice, practice.  Practice the halftime show and doing parades.  What killed us is how nobody bothered to tell National Line where we were going half the time, and considering how we had to lead the whole thing, that got a little frustrating!

Next Season 1999-2000
Note: Most of these pictures are from either from the band's photographers at the time, Mr.Main and Mr.Clifford, or from people's picture submissions to the yearbook staff that year.  And, of course, Lindsey hooked me up with those submissions since she had connections with the yearbook.  Thanks, guys!
Here we all are...
Some of my Best Band Buds

Boy, am I looking to get my ass kicked by the guy in the picture to the left.  But what are you gonna do about it from all the way over in Valpo, Patrick!? NOTHING! :-p

The middle left is Katie, Amanda, and Lisa, three of the six spunky clarinets that made up the CIBs (Chicks in Black), my favorite distraction from football games!
Chillin' at Shaler

Directly above is me and Jaim and to the left is me and Ross sitting around in the stands at our away game to Shaler High School.  That game was pretty cold and we got our butts kicked.  I don't know how I remember these details...
